Step Up Programme - Highbury College

The
Step Up Programme is to develop social and life skills to
help 16 to 19 young people into work or to progress to a full-time
college course. ITC, numeracy and literacy is embedded within
this programme. This Programme took place at off-site venues
at the Hillside Youth Centre, Paulsgrove and St. Lukes training
Centre, Portsmouth.
I run this programme
from April 2005 to May 2006. Students took part in designing
a calendar 2006, team challenge events at Fort Purbrook and
Fairthorne Manor, clay modelling, art work shops, and cookery
amongst several projects.
This programme involved
various units, Personal Development, Group and Teamwork, Improving
Assertiveness and Decision Making, Budgeting and Money Management,
Cookery, Healthy Living, Sex and Relationships,
Creative Crafts and Preparation for Work.
