This portrait of
Princess Diana is approximately 122cm x 122cm (4' x 4') painted
in Acrylic paint in an Airbrush style. This piece was painted part of
a series of contemporary portraits for my Fine Art Degree Show at Portsmouth
Polytechnic and One-man exhibition at the Lord Mountbatten Gallery,
Portsmouth, England in July 1981.

This
painting has always held a personal significance to me. Diana Spencer,
as she was known before her royal marriage, looked so vulnerable and
innocent as the media swooped down upon her. Her charm, good looks and
innocents had captivated me.

Above
I was commissioned to paint two portraits to contribute to the Princess
Diana Royal wedding appeal in June 1981 by Portsmouth City Council for
youth activities at Fort Purbrook.

Since
the sad death of Princess Diana in 1997, this painting has continued
to hold great sentimental value for me. I am Honoured to have this painting
featured in Mem
